London, UK, Washington DC, 13.07.2010 - LTC is participating in the international research project MultiPlatform (Multilinguality Platform for Industrial Collaboration) of the EUREKA Eurostars Programme.

LTC is contributing its international experiences in automatic and computer-assisted translation and workflow optimisation of industrially relevant content to an international research project of the EUREKA Eurostars programme. The consulting and solutions provider for multilingual production is collaborating with Infoman AG, the German consulting and solutions provider for industrial learning, on the MultiPlatform (Multilinguality Platform for Industrial Collaboration).

Based on this foundation, the project team is developing solutions with which businesses at various locations can collaborate more efficiently in different languages. The web-based platform takes individual work processes of planners, production staff and engineers into consideration. It makes production-related information automatically available in several languages. The aim is to improve company-wide collaboration irrespective of language, and to enable ad-hoc translations.

Besides language, the systematic availability of knowledge in various locations is an essential part of the research project. Dr. Adriane Rinsche, LTC’s Managing Director: “From numerous customer projects, we know that a multilingual, cross-board networking of knowledge in production offers great potential for optimisation. The MultiPlatform now enables maintenance staff, service technicians and equipment planners to make far better use of this shared knowledge”. To enable the findings gained from the research to be put into practice directly, application partners are testing the partial results in the course of the project. The project began in April this year. Within 24 months, it should be completed and the MultiPlatform should be ready for operation.
