Today, The Language Technology Centre Ltd. (LTC) announces a major restructuring of its operations. Through this effort, LTC introduces an entirely new business entity, Agile Web Solutions Ltd. (Agile).
For over 15 years, LTC has been offering services such as consultancy, translation, software localization and website globalization using cutting edge technology. Over the years, LTC’s language service department has been growing continuously, reporting minimum growth of 25% year-on-year.
In 1998 LTC started offering the first generic business information management system for the language industry. It also developed the first tool that acts as a 'black box' with integrated workflow facilities, where machine translation and translation memory technology are combined with human post editing to enable instant translations in many different environments. Soon LTC became a software house in its own right offering customization and integration services to customers around its products when needed.
Two lines of business emerged: multilingual services and software development. These are now separated into two separate companies. LTC will continue to focus on its multilingual offerings, whereas Agile will be an independent software developer, with a host of new benefits for customers. In particular, customers will continue to have access to LTC’s previous line of software products, but they will also benefit from a broad range of IT services. In addition, Agile has a range of products in the pipeline for launch in 2009---these new products will create an outstanding value proposition for customers in a variety of industries.
While Agile will have the opportunity to offer its tools and services to a wider audience, companies that deal with multilingual challenges will still receive the best of both worlds, as LTC will act as a distributor and systems integrator of some of Agile’s products.
